SERIE A
Serie A which at the top of the Italian football league system is a professional league football clubs competing at the top of the Italian football league system. It has been occurred as a round-robin tournament for over ninety years since the 1929–30 season.
Serie A was a second-strongest national league in the world in 2014 according to IFFHS. Serie A is ranked fourth among European leagues according to UEFA's league, behind La Liga, the Premier League, and the Bundesliga, and ahead of Ligue 1, which is based on the Italian clubs in the Champions League and the Europa League performance during the last five years.
Juventus is the team that has gained the most World Cup champions (25 titles), with Inter (19 titles), Roma (15 titles) and Milan (10 titles), being respectively third, fourth and ninth in that ranking.
* Format
For most of Serie A's history, there were 16 or 18 clubs competing with each other at the top level. Since 2004–05, There have been 20 clubs altogether since 2004–05. 1947–48 season was played with 21 teams for political reasons. The season runs from August to May. Each of the clubs plays each other teams twice; once at home and once away. There is a total of 38 games for each team by the end of the season. Thus, Italian football uses a true round-robin format.
Each team plays once against each league opponent in the first half of the season, called the “andata” (going), for a total of 19 games. In the second half of the season, called the “ritorno” (return), the teams play in exactly the same order that they did in the first half of the season, the only difference is switched home and away from situations. Teams gains three points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a loss. From 2005–06 season, if two or more teams are drawn in points (for any place), the deciding tie-breakers are as follows:

Juventus, the greatest football club in this league, has taken 35 wins and 21 runners-up. The second place goes to Milan with 18 wins and 15 runners-up. Internazionale has taken third place with 18 wins and 14 runners-up.
